The Heavenly Bhaderwahi Tomul (Rice)
Art: HA-RCE-0105-1KG
Description
Embark on a culinary journey through time with the 'DOUG' variety, also known as Bhaderwah Rice, a historical treasure hailing from Jammu and Kashmir. Rooted in tradition, this indigenous rice boasts a legacy deeply intertwined with the region's cultural tapestry.
Nestled within the Bhaderwah valley, often dubbed "mini Kashmir," this rice variety reflects centuries of cultivation and agricultural heritage. Its distinctiveness is a result of the fertile lands and temperate climate that have nurtured this crop for generations.
Historically, Bhaderwah has been a cradle of agricultural innovation in the region, particularly in preserving indigenous rice varieties. The pockets like "KELLAR" near Bhaderwah valley have been vital hubs where time-honored farming methods and traditional techniques have safeguarded the authenticity of 'DOUG' rice.
Despite the introduction of 'INDICA' varieties from China, Bhaderwah rice maintains its revered status, celebrated not just for its taste but also for its historical significance. Its prominence in local cuisines has been acknowledged through generations, with its buttery texture and sweet taste lending themselves perfectly to culinary traditions.
Whether it's crafting a creamy risotto or preparing the perfect Sushi, Bhaderwah rice embodies the culmination of centuries of agricultural wisdom and cultural heritage. This rice variety stands as a testament to the resilience of traditional farming practices and the unbroken lineage of flavors passed down through time.
At HAMIAST, savor the essence of history and culture encapsulated in every grain of the buttery, thick, soft, and sweet 'DOUG' variety—a true embodiment of Bhaderwah's culinary legacy and historical richness.
